Avicenna Allied Health Institute is a non-profit career school based in Houston, Texas, dedicated to preparing students for entry-level roles in allied health. Through hybrid learning, hands-on labs, and supervised externships, we help adult learners gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to begin a meaningful career in healthcare.

Who We Are

Avicenna Allied Health Institute was founded with a simple goal:

To create accessible, high-quality training for people who want to work in healthcare but need a practical, career-focused pathway.

We specialize in allied health programs, including Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Medical Billing & Coding and Behavioral Health Technician that combine classroom or online instruction with real, hands-on training in modern labs and clinical environments.

Our programs are designed for working adults, career changers, and students who need a structured but flexible way to enter the healthcare field.

Career-Focused Training For Allied Health Professionals.

Avicenna Allied Health Institute focuses on short-term, skills-based training that leads to practical career outcomes. Our programs are carefully designed to reflect current healthcare standards and to prepare students for entry-level roles in real clinical settings.

We currently offer certificate programs in:

Medical Assisting Certificate – Preparing students for entry-level positions in clinics, physician offices, and outpatient centers.
Dental Assisting Certificate – Training students to support dentists and hygienists in general and specialty practices.

Each program includes a structured sequence of theoretical courses, hands-on labs, and supervised externship or clinical practice so that students can transition from the classroom to the workforce with confidence.

Hybrid Learning, Hands-on Training, and Real World Experience.

We know that many of our students are balancing work, family, and school. That’s why we use a hybrid model that combines the flexibility of online learning with the essential, in-person experience of labs and clinical practice.

Hybrid Learning
Theory is delivered online or in classroom-based sessions using a structured learning management system, so students can engage with content wherever they are.
Hands-On Labs
On-campus labs mimic real medical and dental environments, giving students the opportunity to practice skills such as vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, dental radiology, and chairside assisting before working with patients.
Externships & Clinical Practice
Supervised externships and clinical courses place students in real healthcare facilities, where they apply what they’ve learned, refine their technical skills, and build professional confidence.
